Increasing the health and the wealth for Beauty and Barber professionals is the heart of what we do! And with your help 20,000+ courses have been donated through our 'Take a Course Give a Course Program'!

UPDATE:

While we continue to support students, we’ve temporarily shifted most of our efforts to prioritize hardships during Covid-19. As of March 1st 2020, the majority of our current donated courses and 1-on-1 coaching have been DONATED to licensed Beauty and Barber professionals.

How it works...

"Our model eliminates barriers to access capital."

With 5 million Beauty and Barber professionals in the world and the majority of them don't operate like a business 'behind the chair' because the Business Skills chapter in Milady’s textbook is the last and the shortest chapter.

To help address this problem, we work with Beauty and Barber schools worldwide to ensure that for every HAIR HUSTLE ACADEMY course purchased, a course is donated to a student.

We use 2 models:

1) Empowering Beauty and Barber professionals with training opportunities to operate 'behind the chair' to secure financial dependence.

2) Directly giving courses to students where this information can increase business skills and create financial literacy early in their career.

Our Partners

From the beginning, Paul Mitchell has been our primary partner in the Buy a Course, Give a Course program. We’ve supported their students independently, in addition to providing business and technical skills for film, TV, print, and Broadway training.

This model makes learning significantly more accessible in Beauty and Barber schools with few or no business course options. Over 97% of HAIR HUSTLE ACADEMY students learn how to scale their careers for the very first time.

'Hair Hustle'

Our program with tech accelerator programs with eBay and Griffin Worx with addition to using Lean Startup methodology. With local associations, like the Natural Hair Care Professionals (ANHC PRO) providing free online webinars, courses and 1-on-1 coaching. Our model eliminates barriers to access capital.

According to The Bureau of Labor Statistics hairstylist make hairstylists make  $8.18 - $21.96 hourly or $17,010 - $44,220 yearly. Barbers make $30,480. We are committed to decreasing the poverty gap by preparing professionals for a lucrative career with retirement savings and reducing workplace injuries.

We support all school base models across the world and we understand the limits of career preparedness and the focus on technical skills as the primary curriculum for the duration of the school, with little or no emphasis on a business structure.

The BIG Sanitation Problem!

As part of our study with Cornel University in 2019 on the beauty industry, customer service and sanitation are currently the number one issues in salons.

Our Sanitation Accreditation Course addresses the lack of state and local enforcement of conditions in the workplace with a public database of salon and stylists who prioritize sanitation.
