Every idea starts with a problem. HAIR HUSTLE ACADEMY was simple: typical Cosmetology school was outdated. 

Our founder Monica was once a cosmetology student and apprentice. Beauty school is just about learning technical skills. Apprenticeships enhance your skills with a 1-on-1 coach and maybe learning customer service skills. 

Finishing Cosmetology or Barber school then attending school again for business was just out of the question. 

What were the options? Learn business on your own! It turns out that most Beauty and Barber professionals don’t seek out additional business or financial literacy information or courses until there is a problem. 

We started HAIR HUSTLE ACADEMY to create an alternative to being prepared versus winging it 'behind the chair'.

We believe that a Beauty and Barber career should be fun and lucrative and passed down to your family after your career is over or even sell it. 

Currently, there's a big need for structure ’behind the chair’! 

The Business Skills chapter in Milady’s textbook is the last and the shortest chapter. It’s a quick and rushed overview that lacks the real  information about how to operate a business, the information that’ll keep you ahead in the game!

To help address this problem: HAIR HUSTLE ACADEMY partnered with Cosmetology and Barber schools to ensure that for every course taken on our platform a course is donated to a student.
